June 14th

A later start to todays birding, 0530. A Turtle dove was calling as I entered the Grove end, a few warbles were in song including Lesser whitethroat, while the only bird of note on the pool from the ramp was a single Redshank, a second Heron was quickly seen off by the Heron already feeding there. The Feast hide held very little, a dozen or so Mallards, 2 Common Terns while the pair of Mute Swans now only have one cygnet down from 6. The highlight of the visit for me was the sight of 5 Green-eyed Hawkers, 4 were seen in the stream between the Harrisons drove kissing gate and the bridge and another from the Feast hide which also produced a single Banded Demoiselle.
