August 4th

Not much to report during the last week or so ,but did see 1 Turtle Dove on the 28th July and on the 29th while standing by the gate near the white house a Bittern flew out from the reeds near the house and landed near Savi's pool. Today at Stodmarsh there were approx 70 Grey lags on the fields just outside the village. Over the lake were 2 Common Tern and 11 Swift, no sign today of the large flocks of Sandmartins that were here earlier this week, also seen were 3 adult Marsh Harrier and while sitting on the bench by the water meadow saw 7 Kestrel's hovering over the fields between the river and middle drove. The 6 juvenile Shelduck's that were released ( without permission ) are flying about the lake so should be off soon. The only butterflies seen were 2 Speckled Wood and 3 Large White
