November 2nd
A brief visit to the marsh hide this morning and there were 9 Water Pipits, 2 Stonechats,1 Kingfisher, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 4 Linnet, 5 Meadow Pipits and 3 Pied Wagtails at the hide. There is a lot of work being done at the reserve at the moment with ditches being cleared out and small trees uprooted. At the marsh hide you can now see across to the tower hide and the main lake area. The guy with the digger is having to be careful where he lowers the bucket as Water Pipits and Little Egrets search for insects. At the ramp there were 3 Shelduck and 1 blacktailed Godwit. Raptors seen were 3 Marsh Harrier,1 Sparrow Hawk and 2 Kestrel. Bryan.
